- Edição norte-americana de 1940, com capa dura e sobrecapa. Em bom estado, com poucos desgastes. 318 páginas. OR COLLECTORS: ERB, Inc. printed this title as a first edition in 1934 with gray covers and again in 1935. In 1940 ERB, Inc reprinted this title along with six others with red cloth covers with blue lettering (known by collectors as the “red Tarzanas”). The dust jacket used is the same as for the first edition. Two types of red cloth were used: the typical as well as a textured material with a pressed pattern to simulate the weave of cloth (the book I have on auction has the typical weave). The only illustration is the frontispiece by longtime ERB illustrator, J. Allen St. John. The The 1940 editions originally sold for 75 cents. It has been suggested that these 7 reprints were testing the market for the much larger 22 titles of the 1948 reprints.This is not an easy reprint to find – good addition for your ERB collection.
